Following a brief trip to the enchanting St. Kitts Island, we made the decision to invest in a vacation property. Although the official closing is scheduled for November, the planning and acquisition process is already in motion. During our recent visit, we flew in to meet with a contractor, and our experience with the realtors from Sotheby's was exceptional. They graciously guided us on a tour of both St. Kitts and Nevis, introducing us to popular spots like "Sunshines" and their signature "Killer Bee" drink. Both islands offer a distinct island atmosphere, surrounded by the endless beauty of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, depending on your location.
With outstanding hospitality and luxurious 5-star resorts on both islands, coupled with future growth and expansion plans, our decision to purchase this property was a no-brainer. Our chosen location is within the private community of Oceans Edge on St. Kitts Island. This property boasts uninterrupted ocean views, the soothing sound of waves crashing, easy beach access, picturesque mountains, and refreshing breezes, making it an ideal vacation retreat.
Moreover, a short boat ride allows us to explore the neighboring Nevis Island, which is characterized by its breathtaking serenity and tranquility. While touring the properties and grounds of the Four Seasons resort, we were captivated by the stunning landscapes, well-maintained golf courses, and awe-inspiring views.
As for the property's renovation, it primarily involves cosmetic updates, and our goal is to complete the project by mid-January. We are keen on sourcing most of our materials locally on the island, although we are aware that this might pose a challenge. Shipping items from the mainland U.S. is also a viable option, albeit a bit challenging. Rest assured, we will document and share the entire renovation journey, from inception to completion, through social media and our website. Stay tuned for updates!
Introducing the team, standing in the kitchen and our soon to be property, starting from the left: Desiree, my daughter, serves as my design partner for the entire project. Doug, my husband, is affectionately known as the "heavy lifter" the wallet, not materials...the hardest job of all. I am next to Doug and will handle the design aspects from start to finish. On the other side, we have Nay and Bernadette, who represent Sotheby's Realty. Sineal, our construction foreman, and his assistant are situated to the left.
We cannot wait to share this journey with you!
Warmest Regards and Excitement,
Tracy
